Material Evaluation of Products for Hydrogen-Ready Valves

November 25, 2024

Hydrogen energy is increasingly recognized as a key component in building a sustainable future. To ensure the safe and reliable operation of valve products in hydrogen applications, we have been thoroughly evaluating the hydrogen compatibility of our solenoid valves.

As part of this effort, we have conducted material tests to determine how hydrogen exposure affects the integrity of the materials used in our valve products.

In these tests, specimens made from both metal and resin materials were exposed to a hydrogen gas environment to assess any potential impact on material strength. The results showed no significant effect on the material strength when exposed to hydrogen at pressures of 1 MPa or lower.

Target Material: SUS304, SUS316, SUS316L, SUS430, K-M31, A6061-T6, A2017, SK-5, PEEK, PPS, PTFE, SUS304-WPB, EPDM, and FKM.
